Conference: The Next U.S. Administration: Policy Directions & Implications for Canada-U.S. Relations

This conference draws together a group of highly qualified academic specialists in economics, political science, history and environmental studies together with several government officials and members of the business community to examine the current policy challenges in the Canada-United States relationship.

A good deal of the deliberation of the challenges facing the two countries, both of which are undergoing significant political and economic changes in the course of 2008, has been overly general and speculative in nature. Using solid, well-researched scholarly papers prepared in advance, this conference will facilitate a more informed, concrete discussion around these pressing policy issues.

Hosted by the Institute for United States Policy Research/School of Policy Studies, University of Calgary and the Canada Institute of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, and with the support of the Centre for Military and Strategic Studies and the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
